Since
the proposed
emergency plan as presented
after the
Ice Jam of
February, 2007 unfortunately did
not address non-emergency passenger movement between Harsens Island and
the Mainland for normal activities, the association has actively
engaged interested parties to negotiate a solution.
Through efforts by the township,
Representative Pavlov and cooperation
of the DNR, the association was able to arrive at an accommodation for
travel to and from the mainland should the need arise during ice jams.

And now for the rest of the story: The DNR returned our payment and the township is attempting to clarify the issue some more.. (Posted 6/30/09)
